Gables Republic Park

From Urban Austin

Atlanta, GA-based Gables Residential plans to construct a 220-unit apartment tower on the southern half of Block 45 (a block bounded by Guadalupe, Lavaca, 4th & 5th Streets, in the Warehouse District of downtown Austin). Plans for the 311,513 NSF structure will incorporate parking into the tower as well as include 13,890 NSF of ground-level retail. Also, the facade of the Ginger Man Pub will be retained in the new building, as it is considered historical and complementary of the other structures in the surrounding district.

Construction is expected to start in late 2009 and take approximately 18-24 months to complete.
