SoCo Hotel Project
From Urban Austin
GSD&M co-founder and co-owner of the Mansion on Judges Hill boutique hotel, Bill Gurasich, is behind a new SoCo mixed-use development on South Congress, one which will include a 90-room boutique hotel, 18,000 SF of retail space and 6,000 SF of meeting space. Plans call for incorporating the Hey Cupcake! airstream into the development.
The project is being designed by Dick Clark Architecture and is planned for the half-block just south of the Congress Baptist Church and across the street from Allen’s Boots and Vespaio. The site, which is currently owned by the church, stands as a parking lot and home to mobile retail startup Hey Cupcake!
The development will also include an underground parking garage for 350.
